Google just launched its first Gmail app for iOS, available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod. That's the good news. The bad news is that it doesn't work and Google has already pulled it from the iTunes App Store.
iOS users have been waiting for a native Gmail app quite literally for years, so you'd expect Google to be a bit more throrough in its testing process.
Of course all App Store apps get verified by Apple, so perhaps someone there should have caught the rather glaring bugs. That didn't happen either. In the end, a lot of people got excited for nothing and then got really disappointed.
It's not the first time Google has pushed a buggy app to the App Store either. But mistakes will happen, Google is working on a fix and will submit the new app to the App Store, which means a few more weeks of waiting.
