One of the most popular RSS aggregators, Google Reader has just been updated with new look and feel, as well as support for tablets.

Besides the new added support for Honeycomb platform, Google Reader 1.0.1 adds a few minor improvements that make browsing and reading news even more easier and attractive for Android users.

With Google Reader, users can follow all their favorite sites, blogs, and more in one place, but they can also check out what their friends are sharing.

In addition, whenever an interesting article pops-up users can easily share it with their friends immediately after they read it.

To make it even more powerful, Google Reader app syncs with the web version, so everything that a user reads while using a PC is up to date in the form of lists.

The latest version of Google Reader makes it easier for users to share or star an article in their feed with the help of new buttons that have been placed at the upper right of every article.

Obviously, as the application received Honeycomb support, Android fans who own a Honeycomb compatible tablet will notice the new visual elements, which are now cleaner and easier to read.

The application now fits perfectly on larger screens, as well as on other devices that run Android 2.3 Gingerbread and higher.

Another interesting change introduced with Google Reader 1.0.1 is the “Mark Previous as Read” button, which can now be found within the context menu that is accessible when the users presses and holds on a particular story.

Those familiar with the application probably know that this button used to appear as one would scroll down the list of articles in the feed. Other small tweaks and minor improvements include new transitions and smoother interface.

Google Reader 1.0.1 for Android is available as a free download from Android Market and is compatible with all devices running Android 1.6 or higher.
