New feature added to the service

Google Reader is an interesting solution provided by the search giant that helps you read information coming from multiple sources directly from the official website of the service. It allows you to add RSS feeds and other websites that will send you headlines or the entire article, offering the possibility to check the pages periodically for the latest changes. Google Reader works just like another RSS Reader that enables you to receive feeds directly on your desktop.

Google Reader is useful especially when the client stores all his information on the Google server and wants to check it from multiple locations, the Google Reader being available with a simple Google account. At this time, the product is a part of Google Reader Labs, a testing service designed by the company that helps it employees test all the new features meant to be implemented in Reader.

I must say that I am a fan of Google Reader because it works perfectly with a huge number of RSS feeds so, if you want to replace the old downloadable reader from your computer, Google's product is the perfect choice.

Because the product is more and more popular, the search giant improved it periodically adding new stuff that help you control your account. For example, the company announced some time ago that Reader provides Trends, useful statistics about your feeds, articles and other aspects of the product.

Google announced today that Reader is now able to display videos posted on your blog, a feature that was required by multiple users of the service. Chris Wetherell, Google employee, posted a message on the official blog of the company, saying that Google Reader is compatible with several video services.

"We have another small update to Reader regarding video. Reader should now show videos from YouTube and Google Video (and a few other sites) that you have embedded in your blog posts and articles. We didn't want this to be just a Google thing, however, so we also currently support videos from other sites like MySpace, Jumpcut, Grouper, IFILM, Metacafe, Revver, Vimeo, vSocial, and games from Monsters and Critics. If your favorite site isn't listed, please tell us in the Reader group and we'll look into adding support, if possible," the Google employee said.
