With over half a million applications available for download through the Google Play Store, it might become rather difficult sometimes to find software for your Android devices.

However, you can always turn to suggestions that Google is offering to users through the app portal, to learn what apps are most popular among Android enthusiasts.

And since 2012 is nearing fast to an end, Google also published a list of the apps that are considered the best of the year, such as Evernote, Pinterest, Pocket, Ancestry, Fancy and many others. Most of these apps are free, though there are also paid ones.

“These are some of the best apps available in Google Play. Some launched in 2012 while others issued updates that achieved a great combination of utility, beauty and accessibility. Almost all of them are available globally and offer a great user experience on both tablets and phones,” Google notes.
