Mountain View-based Internet giant Google is getting ready for the release of a new flavor of its Google Wallet service and application, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

Those who would like to try it out should head over to this Google Wallet webpage, where they will be able to request an invite to the mobile payments service.

The new service might be released with support for more devices than before, as Google asks users during the signup process what type of device they are using, offering options such as Android, iPhone and other.

Up until now, the service was available only on select phones with NFC connectivity packed inside, available on shelves at Sprint and Virgin Mobile (though other carriers in the US also started to make it available for their users).
