First, it was rumored the super giant Google works on a Googlephone but the company's representatives denied them saying the firm will remain focused only on software solutions. Then, it was said that Google even prepares a mobile operating system which is supposed to bring better functionality for certain handheld devices. Recently, the entire world started talking about a new Google
phone, codename Gphone but the Mountain View company didn't confirm them.
Well, it seems like Google wants even more than that but please keep in mind that this is only pure speculation. According to the Wall Street Journal, Google is currently working on an expansion plan which would allow it to install a communication cable under the Pacific Ocean. Obviously, it would be intended to enhance the communication system and help the search giant fortify its own mobile network.
Google didn't say a thing about it but all the rumors are usually based on a true fact so I'm ready to bet the super giant prepares something revolutionary. If it's not a mobile operating system or a device, it's surely an important step for the mobile industry which seems to be opened to the Google expansion plans.
Google's evolution into the mobile communication industry would be supported by its famous power into the online market as it is able to enhance the voice and data technologies included in the offering. Clint Boulton from Google Watch admits this is bad news for the main US mobile operators as the search giant looks prepared to step into their market.
"This can't sit well with Verizon, Sprint and AT&T, which are also moving to build new cables to accommodate the growth in Internet and phone transmissions," he wrote. "Owning the data pipes can support both Google's search and software practices and help the company support a mobile service provider strategy if it so desires. The company is protecting its own interests, so as an admirer of smart business practices, I say bravo."
