Google wants to conquer the TV and this is an intelligent move able to help the search giant expand its products into the offline area. The new Google attempt is sustained by a deal with DirecTV, a direct broadcast satellite service that is currently offering its products to numerous locations in the US, Latin America and the Caribbean. Although the partnership wasn't yet confirmed, it is probably a new Google attempt to conquer the TV and expand the advertising platforms. Last week, the company confirmed an agreement with EchoStar, a similar firm that is able to allow the search giant to take AdSense and AdWords to offline users.

At this time, DirecTV has an interesting plan that will bring numerous HD channels in their offer. For example, the company plans to include Cartoon Network, CNN, MTV, National Geographic or ESPNews in their HD list. DirecTV currently owns several impressive names such as HBO HD, TNT HD, Discovery HD and many other channels.

However, the latest move looks like a Google attempt meant to expand its advertising platform. As you know, the search giant intends to take its products into the offline area, the TV being one of the targets. In the past, Google had several tests to increase the presence of the advertising products in the offline area. Take for example the newspaper campaign started by Google, numerous users being selected to advertise for free in multiple US newspapers. Soon after this, the company started a radio advertising campaign, a lot of users being selected to send audio ads to multiple US radio stations. After the campaign was completed, Google announced its plans to place adverts on several US stores as well as on the billboard placed straight on the streets.
