I guess you heard this statement more than once because Google is struggling to increase the presence of the company in the Asian market periodically using several techniques: partnerships, regional versions of the products and new offices. However, the company's attempts were often rejected by the local firms that managed to attract the majority of users and make Google's intentions almost useless. Today, Google Watch reported that the Mountain View-based company is now planning to increase the autonomy of the Chinese offices and influence them to develop more powerful products.

"Google China is run very autonomously. We want to increase that ... China is growing very quickly ... so it's important that we invest in China," CEO Eric Schmidt said according to the same source. As you might know, Baidu, the Chinese giant, managed to steal all the local users with its technologies that are almost the same as the Mountain View-based firm's.

Recently, Google signed a deal with China Telecom that will allow the search giant to sell its advertising platform to more than 400 pages owned by the local firm. The Chinese market is very attractive for most of the Internet companies because most of the residents are connected to the Internet and are continuously looking for powerful products.

In the past, both Internet giants Google and Yahoo tried to conquer the Chinese market, but the giant portal was often affected by its own attempts. For example, Yahoo recorded several departures, the Chinese presidents and other employees leaving the company for several reasons. Just after the China assault was rejected, Yahoo announced an internal reorganization that will help the company revamp the local offices.
