Google has been planning to add apps and games pre-registration feature in Play Store for about a month now. This option has been spotted for the first time in early April, but it wasn't available in the Google Play Store build.

Today, the highly anticipated pre-registration feature has been implemented in Google Play Store for everyone to take advantage of.

But what does this pre-registration feature do exactly? Well, it's pretty simple. Assuming the developer publishes its application or game in Google Play store with the “Coming Soon” tag, with the intention of making it available for download later on, Android users will be able to register for that particular app and/or game.

If they do that, then they will be notified on the application or game will be available for download in their region. Obviously, your smartphone will have to be compatible with the Android software that you want to install.

You can also un-register to remove yourself from the list

How can you pre-register for an application? Simply search for the application in Google Play Store, and if the developer made it available with the “Coming Soon” tag, then you will see a Pre-Register button that you can tap.

The Pre-Register button replaces the Buy / Install button, which is present on all Android applications' pages in Google Play Store. If you pre-register for an application and then change your mind, you can Un-register using the same method.

One of the first apps to feature pre-registration is Terminator Genisys: Revolution, but more will be able in the coming weeks.

You can now pre-register for Terminator Genisys: Revolution for Android for free via Google Play Store. The game should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 4.0 and up. Keep in mind that the developer hasn't yet confirmed a release date for this game yet.
