We reported a few days ago that Google updated its Newsstand for Android devices with some bug fixes, and now it looks like the application has just received another update.

However, this time, it’s all about new features and improvements. With the newest version of the application, users will be able to see headlines on their Home screen with the Newsstand widget.

Users can also scan more headlines quickly with mini cards (Menu > Mini cards), as well as organize magazine issues (where available) by publication date. Improvements to news sources translations have been included as well, and support for RTL languages has been added.

You can now download Google Play Newsstand for Android 3.1 for free via Google Play store. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Android 2.2 and up.
