Following the unveiling of Chromecast, Google also announced the availability of a new flavor of the Google Play Movies & TV application for its Android users, so as to provide them with support for the new device, after it did the same with the Google Play Music application.

Basically, the software now enables users to send what they are watching to their TV screen (when used with Chromecast), while also offering Watch Now sync capabilities across devices.

The application flavor (version 2.6.9) also comes with support for virtual surround sound on the new (2013) Nexus 7, as well as on the Nexus 10 that has been upgraded to the new Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system.

The updated Google Play Movies & TV application also comes with a series of bug fixes packed inside, the available release notes unveil.
