Google announced today a new deal with EchoStar Communication Corporation, the parent company of DISH Network, an important satellite broadcaster. The two companies are aiming to buy,
sell, deliver and measure TV ads through the Google advertising platforms and 125 channels provided by EchoStar. Although the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, Google is aiming to conquer the TV with a new and innovative advertising platform. Recently, Google announced its plans to expand the ad products into the offline area by using several TV partnerships, a move able to attract the offline users.
"DISH Network is focused on improving all aspects of our business, and advertising is no exception. Through this groundbreaking partnership with Google, we are confident we will be able to bring increased efficiencies to DISH Network's advertising sales and more accurate, up-to-date viewer measurement with easily accessible online reporting to advertisers," said Charlie Ergen, Chief Executive Officer, EchoStar, according to a press release published by Google.
As you surely know, Google owns AdSense and AdWords, two of the most popular advertising platforms on the Internet. Because they are so popular, the search giant plans to expand the products into the offline area and conquer the real world. In the past, Google made several partnerships with US newspapers to display ads, numerous users selected for the campaign confirming the testing session. Soon after that, Google announced an audio advertising campaign sustained by numerous US radio stations. The search giant selected some of the AdWords publishers and sent audio ads to the US radios to play them.
Recently, Google announced a new attempt to expand the advertising platform into the offline area by placing Google ads on billboards located straight in streets or into the stores from all around the world.
