Although the company didn't confirm the rumors, it seems like Google prepares a Singapore invasion to monopolize the Internet world in the country. TechWhack reported the search giant is looking to open a research and development center in Singapore that will represent the first Google office in the Southeast Asian territory.

"The US based tech giant said that they chose Singapore because of its "very vibrant" info-communications and technology environment. The news was reported by the The Straits Times which quoted the company's Southeast Asia managing director of sales and operations Richard Kimber. Singapore is one of the highly networked nations in the South East Asian region and the government has shown their keenness to invite high tech companies to invest in the region," TechWhack reported.

If the speculations are really true, it will represent an interesting battle for Singapore because the most powerful Google rival, Yahoo, is already present in the country with its Singapore edition of the portal provided by the company.

As you surely know, this is not the first Google attempt to expand the solution provided by the company into the Asian market. Both Google and Yahoo opened several offices in China but the Internet giants encountered several problems to impose their products. Take for example Yahoo that recorded several departures and problems that forced the official to announce an internal reorganization. Google also had several dilemmas in China because the company planned to become the most powerful search engine in the country but encountered a powerful offensive from the Internet leader Baidu.

In the near future, Singapore will be the subject of a Yahoo vs. Google battle with no other competitors so we should expect for some special products developed by the two companies especially for this country.
