Director of Chinese Research company iSuppli confirms it

There was a rumor a few days ago that Google might have already partnered or would partner with Chinese company Huawei for the next Nexus device, tablet or smartphone.

Today, a new report that confirms the same information has just popped up online. GizmoChina reports that Kevin Yang, director of China Research at iSuppli, a well-known and respected research company, confirmed on Weibo that Google has already chosen Huawei to manufacture its next Nexus device.

But that is not all, as Google is said to have partnered with LG for a Nexus device in 2015 as well, but it's unclear what company will do a smartphone and which will be in charge with building Google's next Nexus tablet.

That is a surprising decision considering Huawei's status as a company in the United States, and since Google sells most of its smartphones in this country, it will be interesting to see how fans of the series will receive the news if the rumors are accurate.

Huawei officials have been accused in the past of spying for China, which made the Chinese company drop any intentions of entering the US smartphone market.

Huawei confirmed earlier this week that they would enter the US market

However, during this year's Mobile World Congress trade fair, Huawei's CEO Richard Yu confirmed his company’s plans to enter the US market later this year.

He has also mentioned that he expects some kind of support from Google, so that could be another indication that the two companies have also inked a partnership.

LG is not new to the Nexus lineup, as the company has worked in the past with Google for the launch of a Nexus smartphone, so perhaps the search giant has chosen the South Korean company again for its experience.

Either way, we'll see what happens in the coming weeks, as we're getting close to Google I/O conference. We expect more info to pop up soon, so stay tuned.
