Making it possible for more people to post content and manage the same page

When Google+ debuted, one of the big complaints was the lack of support for brand pages. In fact, Google wouldn't even allow companies to create profiles, only individuals were welcomed in at first.

Google said it was to preserve the essence of Google+ and the tone of the conversation and promised to launch Google+ pages soon.

When Google+ pages finally did arrived, one of the big complaints was the lack of support for multiple admins. Only one person was allowed to post things or comment as the page, the one who created it.

Now, finally, Google is making it possible for more people to add content and manage the same page.

"Google+ Pages have already provided brands and businesses a new means of connecting to and deeply engaging with consumers," Google's Bradley Horowitz explained.

"In the weeks since launching pages, we’ve been listening to your feedback and we’re pleased to make some of the most oft-requested features available," he said.

Unsurprisingly, multiple admins was the most requested feature and Google over-delivered. Page administrators can designate up to 50 managers for a single page, ensuring that even big companies or organizations can delegate responsibilities.

However, to make sure that everyone knows what everyone else is doing, there is a new notification flow, which details each post, comment or change to the page made by one of the admins.

Considering that up to 50 people can work on the same page, this was a must-have feature.

Finally, Google is unifying the +1 and follower counts. When Google+ pages debuted, it had a counter of how many people added the page to their circles and another one for how many people clicked the +1 button for the page.

Obviously, those are two separate metrics, but they were confusing to regular users and page admins alike, so Google is now showing a single number that combines the two, accounting for duplicates as well.
