Unveiled last month along with Google’s next version of Android platform, Jelly Bean, Nexus 7 tablet could start shipping as early as next week.

The search giant did not mention exactly when it might launch the slate on the market, which is why Nexus 7 could arrive sooner in some regions, while some countries may get it a bit later.

For the time being, a few UK-based retailers allow customers to pre-order Google’s slate for rather expensive prices starting at 220 GBP (340 USD or 275 EUR).

The good news is that the Google Nexus 7 will also arrive in the US sooner than expected. So far, only major retailer Staples added the tablet to its portfolio, but other authorized resellers are likely to start taking pre-orders soon.

Customers who would like to reserve Google’s Nexus 7 tablet will be able to do so via Staples. The retailer offers the slate for only $249 USD (200 EUR), but the slate is currently “out of stock.”

According to Staples, those who pre-ordered the Google Nexus 7 tablet by July 10 have their devices reserved and will receive it as soon as it becomes available on the market.

In this regard, the retailer confirms the Nexus 7 will ship between July 12 and July 17, with an estimated delivery time of 1 - 3 business days. Keep in mind that the slate won’t arrive earlier than July 13 2011.

Furthermore, customers who buy the new tablet from Google will also receive $25 USD credit to spend on Google Play. In addition, the slate will come pre-loaded with free content, including a copy of Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

Built by Asus, Google’s Nexus 7 will be shipped with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean onboard and an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor. The tablet also sports a 7-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display with HD (1280 x 800 pixels) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass coating.
