Google announced a few weeks ago that it would start selling its Nexus products in India directly through its Play store. Nexus 4, 7 and 10 are likely to arrive in India soon for much lower prices than those offered by authorized resellers.

The Nexus 7 should have been one of the first products to be released in India on April 5. However, AndroidOS reports that Google has already started shipping the Nexus 7 ahead of the official launch.

The Nexus 7 tablet is available for purchase via Google Play Store for Rs 15,999 ($295/€230) outright. Check it out here.

It ships with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box, but an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean upgrade is now available for download.

The tablet packs a 1.2 GHz quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM and a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1280 x 800 pixels resolution.
