The 16GB version is available on Google Play for just $350 (€260)

Now this is something worth writing about. Best Buy has just listed the LG Nexus 5 for no less than $800 (€590) when customers want to replace their phones without signing up for a new agreement.

I should mention that this is Sprint's version of Nexus 5 and the smartphone is now up for pre-order and, according to Best Buy, it will ship when their receive stock.

There's no “store pickup” option available for the moment due to the fact that the smartphone has yet to arrive at Best Buy.

There's more to it, as one may think that this is at least the 32GB version of Nexus 5. Alas, Best Buy is selling the 16GB Nexus 5 for $800 (€590), even though customers can pre-order one via Google Play for just $350 (€260) outright.

Obviously, there's the issue of the phone being sold out in some countries, but we can hardly believe that one would want to spend so much money when they can wait to more stock to arrive on Google Play.

Customers willing to commit to a new two-year agreement will be able to pre-order Sprint's Nexus 5 (16GB) for only $150 (€110), but there's no telling when they will receive it.

Those who choose to extend their current contracts with another two years are also eligible for this offer, along with customers who add a line.

The first to spot Best Buy's offer, the folks over at The Verge, also point out that even Sprint doesn't charge customer more than $450 (€335) for the full price of LG Nexus 5 (16GB).

The outright price of 16GB Nexus 5 at Best Buy seems rather an error, but there's no additional details available from the major retailer.

But there's hope, as Best Buy may actually offer the Nexus 5 along with other Google devices that are now available for purchase. Stay tuned for more updates on the matter.

[UPDATE]: It looks like Best Buy has just changed the outright price for the Nexus 5, so customers can now pre-order it for just $450 (€325).
