The latest scoop in the Nexus 10 feud places the unveiling a few weeks from now

The next-generation Nexus 10 has been in the rumor mill a lot lately, proving to be one elusive device. After a series of leaks posted on Reddit, where specifications and a couple of pictures showcasing it appeared, Android watchers claimed that the Google tablet will show its face during Cyber Monday.

We all know that didn't happen. The Nexus 10 had been removed from the Google Play Store and we had an official confirmation saying that the device will not be re-stocked. And most people liked to assume this was a clear confirmation that the next-gen Nexus 10 was coming.

When the device didn't show its face on Cyber Monday, new rumors started circulating that the next-gen 10-incher might arrive just in time for Christmas. A German user stumbled upon a next-gen Nexus 10 protective folio on Amazon.de and the accessory was listed as being available for purchase December 20.

The folio is currently still listed on the website, but 20 December has passed and it doesn't seem like the product has been made available.

Now a fresh batch of rumors brought to us by Tablet Magazine claim that the next-generation Nexus 10 is headed for an early January unveiling. But how early is early?

With the CES 2014 coming up in just a few weeks in Las Vegas, we could end up seeing the Nexus 10 on display among all the new devices that are going to be showcased there.

An interesting theory is that the Nexus 10 might be the 10.5-inch AMOLED tablet Samsung has been reported to be working on.

The Korean giant has been gearing up to unleashed four tablet models in Q1 2014, but we already know the names of those slates (it’s the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite, Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4/10.1 and Galaxy Note Pro 12.2) and none of them has a 10.5-inch screen or an AMOLED display (as far as we know).

The slate will apparently ship with a quad-core Snapdragon processor or a Tegra 4 and will come bundled with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.
