Google News Improved with Archive Search

Google News, the news service provided by Google, receives a new update concerning its database, allowing users to find older information easier. News Archive Search is an intuitive function and works exactly as its name says: helps you find older headlines provided by the news service. At a first sight, the function is very similar to the main search technology developed by the company, including almost the same elements as the well known search engine: preferences, advanced search and a detailed help menu. Clicking on the feature will return you a simple menu, asking you to specify the keyword to search for as well as a timeline if you intend to find an article posted on a certain date.

"News archive search provides an easy way to search and explore historical archives. Users can search for events, people, ideas and see how they have been described over time. In addition to searching for the most relevant articles for their query, users can get an historical overview of the results by browsing an automatically created timeline. Search results include both content that is accessible to all users and content that requires a fee. Articles related to a single story within a given time period are grouped together to allow users to see a broad perspective on the events," it is mentioned in the description of the new future.

As far I can see, the new function works really great, returning relevant results according to the keyword entered by the user. Two of the most interesting features provided by News Archive Search are the possibility to search for an article written in a certain language as well as for a headline published by a certain publication. Update: it seems like the feature was released some time ago but Google didn't include it into all the domains currently available for Google News.
