Google News, the Mountain View-based company's service that receives headlines and articles from more than 4,500 sources around the world, has just got a new feature which will surely help you track the activity of your favorite actor, singer, politician or whoever you like. The search function integrated in Google News now allows users to look for a certain celebrity and read the most recent quotes and sayings included in Google News-indexed stories.

All you need to do is to type the celebrity's name in the search box placed on the Google News page and, if there's a recent quote available, Google displays it straight above the links to the related articles it has found. Clicking on their names brings you to a fully separate page which displays all the recent quotes and statements issued by the person you where searching for.

"As part of Google's mission to organize the world's information, we've been hard at work making quotations in news articles easy to search and browse. You can now more easily keep track of what your favorite politician, actor or sports star is saying. You can even search within their quotes for specific topics," Jack Hebert, Akash Nanavati and Natasha Mohanty, Software Engineers, stated in a blog post published today.

What's interesting is that this new feature implemented into Google News provides even more functionality than you may expect because besides searching for quotes said by certain person, you can actually search these statements by using the search box placed in the left navigation menu on the quotes page. For instance, as shown by the adjacent photos, you can type Iraq in the search box in order to view Hillary Clinton's statements concerning the war in Iraq and other sayings related to this matter.
