Nothing official yet

Although there is nothing confirmed yet, it seems like Google News was down in several countries. Actually, it doesn't work at all because it shows an empty page to all the visitors of the website. According to Google Blogoscoped, the problems started on Sunday when some users reported difficulties encountered while reading the stories. It seems like Google News Germany, Google News UK and the main page of Google News were unavailable, showing only empty websites with no stories. Matt Cutts, Google engineer, sustained Google News worked pretty fine for him but other consumers confirmed the glitches with the news technology.

"It's showing empty fields for all the topics, across various country versions (including the US one at news.google.com). Some test searches I tried didn't yield any results either. People had been reporting problems since some days already, but this scope seems to be new," Philipp Lenssen from Google Blogoscoped wrote today.

This is not the first time when the consumers encounter problems with Google News because the news technology has often been pretty buggy although there is no beta tag attached to its name. Moreover, the search function is pretty useless because it often returned me errors saying there's no headline with the keyword I entered although I typed very popular queries such as Google or YouTube.

At this time, Google News works fine and it seems like the Mountain View company fixed all the glitches with the service.

Google News is the news technology powered by the super giant Google which receives headlines and stories from about 4,500 sources from all over the world and publishes them on the same website. Google News has often been criticized due to this thing, numerous consumers accusing Google of receiving praises and money for the content offered by other publishers.
