More languages for the news service

The news service powered by the Mountain View company received some new goodies that surely make the product more attractive for the people from all around the world. For example, Google debuted a few weeks ago two new versions of Google News, allowing the users to view only a text flavor of the product or another edition based only on images. Today, Google releases News in Hindi in addition to the Greek version that was recently rolled out on the Internet. At this time, Google News is available in more than 40 countries including Russia, Chile, Norway and Venezuela.

"It made it clear that users want news in their language, presented in a way that they appreciate the best, highlighting content that is most relevant to them. We also want Google News to give you the ability to find out what's happening locally in any part of the world, and give you the means to see a wide variety of global viewpoints on local news," Jaya Jha, Associate Product Manager, tried to explain the reasons of this latest update.

But Google News is not only just a web-based service because it attracted a considerable amount of criticism from the parent company's rivals. Most of the firms accused Google for receiving praises although 100 percent of the content is provided by other sources. As you might know, Google News receives headlines from more than 4.500 sources from every corner of the world but the service publishes only the title of the article along with a link to the original author.

However, the search giant is continuously working on the News service and it is going to add some new features soon. "Of course, there are always more languages to offer, more countries to reach, more features to be built for each edition, and more content to be organized and made accessible. We look forward to bringing you many more changes and improvements in the coming months," the Google employee concluded.
