Google: "Mwahaha, puppets, I own you and your puny means of making ends meet"

Two weeks ago, Google decided on a whim to kill the page rank of bloggers that have been using IZEA (PayPerPost's new name) and to effectively remove them from the Internet, because it wasn't really ethical to have been doing that, or at least that's what Google bosses thought. I agree with them, but the ways they went regarding this matter are much too harsh, in my opinion.

At the moment, IZEA is in the process of launching RealRank, an alternative way to rank blogs and to counter Google's devastating blow to the groin. Difficulties have been met when advertisers realized that it's too much of an effort to write about blogs with no PageRank, the SEO work would just have been too much to take for anyone.

Michael Arrington, from TechCrunch.com, has been watching the forums that are populated with people directly interested in the matter, and has found some interesting posts and replies, some of which he calls "pathetic," like the next one: "Oh. My. God. Oh my god! I can't believe this is happening. I NEED to earn money with my blogs, I'm going to have to take every single opp I qualify for every day in order to keep up with expenses." I think it's too harsh of a word, "pathetic"; the guy is just talking about paying the bills, but it's not really my place to make a comment.

The funniest reply, though, came on a different forum and was submitted by a user named Svakanda: "oh the phear…run little bloglets google is coming to destroy your incomes =) What are they going to do to those of us who just blog for the heck of it? Steal our lols…?!! /buries his lols in the back yard."

Laughs aside, what Google did was awful for some innocent bloggers, "innocent" being said without the ethical problems in mind.
