Among the technologies powered by the super giant Google we can also find some downloadable tools which are supposed to be saved and installed on consumers' computers. Picasa Web Albums Uploaders is just one of them but it also has something special: it is designed to work on Mac OS X, a feature owned by only a few Google technologies including Google Earth of Gmail Notifier. Today, the folks working for Picasa Web Albums Uploader released version 1.1 of the application which comes with several goodies for the fans of the program.

First of all, allow me to describe Picasa Web Albums Uploaders because I'm sure many of you never heard of it. Basically, it is an application which is meant to enable you to upload photos in your Picasa account in a matter of minutes. But what's more exciting is that you can do it straight from desktop without opening your browser and, since it's developed to work on Mac, you can easily drag photos from Finder and drop them in the application.

The program is pretty similar to numerous other technologies available out there which are meant to enhance the connection between your computer and a photo sharing technology. However, I can assure you that Picasa Web Albums Uploaders works quite amazingly as the entire uploading process can be made in a matter of seconds, obviously depending on your Internet connection and on the size of the photos.

"This release adds support for Apple's iPhoto '08, along with a few other refinements, like an improved installer and the ability to convert keywords from iPhoto to tags in Picasa Web Albums. Under the hood, the uploaders were rebuilt using our public Google Data API, which will make it easier to integrate new features from Picasa Web Albums," Jason Cook, Product Marketing Manager, wrote on a Google blog.

Although you may know it, you can download the latest version of Picasa Web Albums Uploaders straight from Softpedia's Mac section available here.
