Owners of a touchscreen-enabled BlackBerry Storm from Canadian mobile phone maker Research In Motion have now yet another appealing software solution available for their devices, namely Google Mobile App. The new application is available both for the older BlackBerry Storm and for the BlackBerry Storm2 devices, and offers users the possibility to enjoy features like search by voice, searching through emails and contacts and others more.

“This version contains all of the useful features of Google Mobile App, but is tailored for BlackBerry touchscreen devices. You can search using your voice instead of typing your query. Just hold the green button and speak your query in English, Mandarin Chinese, or Japanese. You can also use Google Mobile App to search your BlackBerry's email and contacts,” a recent post on the Google Mobile Blog states.

Those users who want to find a specific email can simply search for the name of the contact that sent the message, or can search for a phrase in the body of the email. However, in case there are some who do not wish for Google Mobile App to search through emails and contacts, they can simply turn off the Phone Search feature from the options screen.

Additionally, some other functionalities are included in the software solution, meant to make searching an easy task, such as Google Suggest and search history. The Google Mobile App also comes with the option to link other Google services, including Gmail or Google Maps, so that users can access them faster and easier.

The application is available in seven languages, and can be used by people in more than twenty countries. “Information about your contacts and content from your emails is accessible only on your device; Google Mobile App does not send this data to Google,” the blog post also notes, so users can rest assured on this one. Those interested in downloading Google Mobile App to their BlackBerry devices will have to visit m.google.com via their handset's browser.
