Now we know! Google has set its mind to launch every day something new. After giving users video files and satellite maps, Google is unleashing among the companies.

Mini Search Appliance is a tool which offers companies Google’s search power for the Intranet and the web site. Mini Search Appliance was released in January, having a price of 4,995 dollars and being able to index 50,000 documents.
Three months later, Google announced that as a result of the companies’ requests, the price will be lowered to 2,995 dollars and the number of indexed documents will be increased to 100,000.
The version for huge corporations, Google Search Appliance, also "suffered" price cutoffs, from 32,000 dollars to 30,000 dollars. Google modified this tool so that instead of 150,000 indexed documents, the application is able to index 500,000 files.
For an additional sum of money, both tools can be upgraded to search through 15 million files.
Google has justified all these changes with the increase of information quantity stored by companies. Truth is Google is dealing with a developing market, a study carried out by Jupiter Research in 2003 indicating that the majority of small companies uses open source solutions for the Intranet search.
Google has no intention of stopping here and has promised an enterprise version for its Desktop Search applications.
Although critics imputed the Search Appliance tools the low level of security, the new prices and capabilities will certainly increase the sales rate.
