Google Might Step into The Hardware Market

The well-known partnership between Google and Dell was recently started as the two companies manufactured the first Google Search Appliance as a result of the agreement. If you didn't know, Search Appliance is a device created for the enterprise users that can bring the power of the Google search technologies to the business owners. David Bercovich, Product Marketing Manager, said that the partnership with Dell was recently rolled out and they started to manufacture the Search Appliance. However, this doesn't necessarily mean that Google might be interested in producing hardware, but the Dell partnership leaves room for this exciting idea.

"Dell's international reach is helping us make the Google Search Appliance available faster in markets around the globe. So does this mean the popular (and playful) yellow appliance is going to be replaced by a more buttoned-down corporate server?" David Bercovich, Product Marketing Manager, said today. "As you can see in the ad Dell is running to showcase our partnership, the familiar yellow box was one of many customizations to the manufacturing process that insures that the Google Search Appliance will continue to be the brightest box in the data center!"

In the past, Google denied its involvement into the hardware market as Eric Schmidt, Google CEO, sustained that the Mountain View company will remain a software firm, as it's not interested in other markets. This statement was made after numerous speculations concerning a potential Googlephone prepared by the search giant. However, there are still several signs that might make us think Google prepares a mobile device, but - as long as there are no official statements of evident proofs - the big G remains an online software firm.
