Today, Google confirmed its own PowerPoint solution, sustaining that the old-fashioned Microsoft Office is not the search giant's rival although most of its services are similar to the ones developed by the software company. As you might know, the service was discovered a long time ago when a blogger found a Google document published on Docs & Spreadsheets, sustaining that the upcoming product will be entitled Presently. According to ZDNet, Eric Schmidt, Google CEO, Microsoft's Office is not a rival of the company's suite currently containing Docs and Spreadsheets. Also today, Google introduced several updates for the Office solution, allowing users to build and work with charts easier than before.

"We don't think it's a competitor to Microsoft Office. It's casual and sharing, and a better fit to how people use the Web. My guess is many companies in the audience are building products like this or other variants of this using the emerging architecture," the Google employee sustained according to the same publication.

Now, only one question comes in my mind: which one would you use? Google Office or Microsoft Office? Google's Presently or Microsoft PowerPoint? Google is an online company that offers powerful online service while Microsoft is mostly an offline firm, offering only downloadable applications.

Although the online feature might disadvantage Google because some of the users may be unable to connect to the services, it is surely an important ability. Why, you'll ask. Imagine that an online solution such as Google Docs & Spreadsheets allows you to organize, store and save documents straight on the Google servers while enables you to access the files from any location using only the account. Now, Google is mostly a freeware company that provides products for free, except some of the premium solutions including Google App. So, I'll let you choose the one you like and help you achieve your goal but remember: "Don't be evil!"
