Good news Android users, as Google has just released a small but important update to Maps application. The most popular navigation application has been packed with a brand new feature meant to improve user experience even further.

According to developers, both iOS and Android versions of Maps received a new feature that will allow the application to notify users if there's a faster route available. Aside from that there aren't any additional changes confirmed by Google.

Keep in mind that while the update has been confirmed by developers via Google+, the new version of Maps is slowly being deployed worldwide, which means it might take some time until it reaches all countries.

You can now download Maps for Android for free via Google Play Store. Keep in mind the application should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Android 2.1 and up.
