14 DAY TRIAL // Google has released a new flavor of its Maps for Android application, meant to provide users with the ability to find businesses around them much easier than before.
Regardless of whether looking for restaurants, salons, city tours or other locations, the new Google Maps for Android 6.7 is meant to prove more efficient when it comes to finding them.
Additionally, the new flavor of the application arrives with indoor walking directions in the U.S. and Japan, and also provides users with 360-degree interior photos of businesses, so that users would be able to find their way inside quicker.
The latest flavor of Google Maps for Android brings along nearby Google Offers, enabling the discovery of great deals near user’s location.
To access the feature, people would simply have to tap on “Maps” to open the dropdown menu and then select Offers.
“If you see something you like you can click on it to learn more. Some Google Offers can be purchased and saved for later while others are immediately available for free,” Benjamin Grol, product manager for Google Maps for Android, notes in a recent blog post.
“With free Google Offers, press ‘Use now’ to redeem instantly or ‘Save for later’ for future use. You can also opt-in to receive notifications in the app when there are offers near you.”
Google Maps for Android got indoor maps last November for the U.S. and Japan, and the feature got improvements along the way, with businesses adding floor plans to the service.
Users can now take full advantage of this feature through the indoor walking directions that Google made available in the latest flavor of the Android application.
Additionally, the Google Business Photos provides panoramic photos of the inside of a business, so that users could make an idea of what the restaurant or store they are walking into looks like.
To enjoy these 360-degree panoramic views, users would simply have to select the “See Inside” section on the Place page of a selected business (when available).
