A new version of Google Maps for Android was made available for download via the Android Market, some of the latest reports on around the Internet note.

The new flavor of the mobile application, namely Google Maps for Android version 4.5.1, reportedly includes a nice improvement, as it added weather to the live wallpaper.

It seems that the new application iteration was already downloaded by many Android phone users out there, and that they already report that the newly added feature looks both pretty appealing and quite useful.

For what it's worth, this is only a small update brought to the Android version of the software solution, but it still is a welcomed one.

Unfortunately, the Internet giant did not offer specific info on what has been included in the new release of Google Maps for devices running under its own mobile platform.

It's a common fact that Google has added a wide range of feature to Google Maps for Android lately, in an attempt to offer the best possible experience to its users.

Some of these features include search by voice, Google Maps Navigation (which comes with 3D views, turn-by-turn voice guidance, or automatic rerouting), My Location, Street View imagery, or Place Pages.

These features are pretty appealing, but they are not yet available for all users out there, either owners of an Android-based device, or of a mobile phone powered by other mobile platforms.

When it comes to Android, Google worked hard on putting together as many of its services as possible to provide an enhanced experience to users, including the delivery of Google Search results on the phone based on the location of a user.

One of the latest new features that Google made available for mobile phone users is “a new hyperlocal ad feature” that provides distance info when a user searches for a certain type of business.
