The fact that Google has allowed access to Google Maps' source code is already starting to show the results.

Thanks to a programmer, Cristian Streng, the Google Maps service
is now available on cell phones. We are dealing with a 478 KB of Java that can be downloaded via wap from the MGMaps.com site and it's compatible with all Java J2ME phones.

The software is free and the site offers complete instructions related to the installing and usage of maps on the cell phone. The first version was released on June 30, and the last update was made today; the users are able now to download version 1.03 of MGMaps.

The application uses images from Google Maps and offers functions like Zoom In, Zoom Out, editing, saving and searching of the locations.
