Google Maps has just received some new features that might be soon implemented into Google Earth and enhance the downloadable application's content. The business maps included in the web-based solution are very important for both owners and visitors as they can provide valuable information for all of them. In fact, most of the Google Maps users looking for detailes about a certain business are also interested in the comments made by other users, because only the customers can judge if a restaurant is good or not and whether or not a hardware store has all that you need.

That's why the Mountain View company wanted to give you more control over this feature and allow all the users of the service to place comments for a certain business. Now, all you need to do is interact with other customers of a certain restaurant in your search for the business, click on the More Info link, push the Reviews tab and select the Write A Review option. Then, you're required to enter your review along with the title, your nickname and a rating for the business.

"That's right, Google Maps now offers user ratings and reviews of local businesses. Google Maps has offered a collection of reviews assembled from some of the finest sources on the web for some time, but now we're augmenting those with reviews from an even better source: you -- and, we hope, millions of other opinionated Google users," Jonathan Goldman, Software Engineer, Google Maps, said today. "Don't forget that Google Maps indexes a tremendous variety of businesses, and in a number of countries."

As you probably know, Google Earth is the downloadable version of Google Maps, allowing you to view the same high-quality pictures straight from your desktop. Lately, the program was improved with numerous functions meant to enhance the users' power, so we should expect this new Google Maps feature into Earth as soon as possible.
