Google Maps can be easily placed among the top technologies powered by Google when it comes to mobile access because numerous consumers visit the service using their handheld devices. Since the number of the mobile users was increased, Google was more focused on the mobile version of Maps and today, new results are rolled out. If you're a Symbian phone owner you're one of the lucky guys because Google Maps for Symbian devices was just rolled out. There's not much information about this new flavor of the mapping utility since it is pretty similar to the other versions of the product. Just like the others, you have to visit the mobile version of Google Maps in order to download it on your phone and start looking for satellite imagery.

The Mountain View giant didn't issue an official statement on the new Google Maps flavor but the Google Mobile Guide published a post in a special Groups discussion to let the users know about the new version of the service.

"I'm excited to tell you that Google Maps is now available for Symbian Series 60 3rd edition devices. Compared to the existing J2ME version that you may be using today, this version of the app offers GPS support on Nokia 95 and a significantly faster startup time! To download GMM for Symbian, visit Google Maps Mobile from your device. Let me know how you like (or don't like) it," Google Mobile Guide stated.

At this time, Google Maps is available in three versions, besides the PC one: for Windows Mobile devices, for Palm OS handhelds and for the Symbian phones. If you want to find out more information about the mobile versions of Google Maps, I recommend you to visit the special mobile flavor of the mapping utility straight from your handheld device.
