Beer is good. No, Beer is god!

Ok, so, people are constantly saying that Google is turning into Orwell's Big Brother, that it follows them around and even in the privacy of their home they cannot be free to surf the web for anything, because the Mountain View based company is spying via the cookie it sends whenever you are using the search engine to create the biggest database on the planet. That might be or might not be, only time will tell if Google uses the information it collects for world domination or just for serving personalized ads.

But on the bright side of things, a tool that Google has provided the world with does what every serious man knows is a must: it maps the best places you can get decent beer and the criteria is cheapness. Now, that's a combination that makes my mouth water and I'm not sure why.

It looks like the cheapest beer in the world, according to the respondents to the poll on the site hosting the mashup, can be found in Ukraine, for about 0.84 bucks a pint. Romania is the runner up, with 1.02 bucks, while in the third place is Taiwan, where a pint, bottle, jug or whatever it is they serve you with costs 1.53 dollars. Now, my question is: is it worth to fly over to Ukraine for a serious week of beer drinking, or I should save the plane ticket money and go out with the people I know and drink the beer where I usually do?

I forgot to tell you the name of the Google Maps mashup, silly me, it must be from all the beer I drank up to this point writing this. It's the Beer Index, or in short, the Beerdex. Bottom's up, guys! And you, ladies, if you dare keep us company.
