Mountain View-based Internet giant Google has made available for download a new flavor of the Google Maps application for the owners of Android-based devices, namely version 7.0.0.

The new application release arrives on smartphones and tablet PCs with a brand new interface, while also being meant to provide enhanced navigation capabilities, courtesy of features such as live traffic updates, incident reports, and dynamic rerouting.

Furthermore, users will enjoy a new way to browse and discover popular places to eat, drink, shop, play, and sleep.

The updated Google Maps will arrive on Android 4.0.3 and higher devices gradually over the next few weeks, but the APK for the app is already available online for manual download, Android Police notes.

However, it seems that there are various versions of the APK available, and users interested in grabbing the software before it is officially pushed to their handsets should make sure they download and install the right one.
