Google is teasing a new game coming to Google+ soon. Interestingly enough, the game is built by Google itself. Even more interesting, the game is based, quite literally, on Google Maps.
From the teaser video Google unveiled, it looks like the game is in the vein of On the Ball, Marble Madness and Rolling Madness 3D. The object of those games is to navigate a ball through various obstacles by moving and manipulating the terrain rather than the ball itself.
In Google's version, the terrain is actually made up of real Google Maps, beautifully rendered in 3D. Entire cities, from Paris to New York, or even interior locations will double as the levels for this game.
The game relies on WebGL for the 3D rendering. Google recently unveiled a 3D version of Google Maps that uses WebGL technology. The same technology is used as the base of the game, it seems. The Google Maps game should be landing next month.
