The holidays always come with a lot of visiting, either you're doing it or you're on the receiving end of it. Either way, it's always good to know at all times the status
of the means of transport you might be opting to use and if you're not going by Greyhound, you're probably thinking of air travel.
Google has decided to give its users the chance to check this from the comfort of their own homes and, thus, it introduced a new flight status feature that is set to make their travels a whole lot easier. It's a good thing all around, they get the traffic for the ads, you get to spend less time waiting in an era where time came to be the most valuable resource. A win-win situation, you might say.
"For the latest information on a flight's status, simply search for an airline and flight number, and the first result will tell you whether your flight is on time or delayed as well as the estimated departure and arrival times", Nick Weininger, Software Engineer says on the Official Google Blog.
I just hope that this feature will be available worldwide and will index all flights anywhere, not just in the United States, because I sure as hell could have used this feature last time I waited for somebody in the airport for about three hours. And then, with the luggage that wasn't boarded when they made the switch, some two additional hours of fun right there!
And with the latest update, a mention about a search feature that will find everybody's lost luggage is said to be in the works, but I wouldn't really count on it. Something tells me that it was just a joke, one for the easy gullible.
