Google is stepping up its support for nonprofits with a new Google for Nonprofits website and program which aims to make it easier for organizations to get access to the tools, services and grants Google offers.

The company has always had special offers and support programs for nonprofits, but it has now opened a one-stop-shop for everything an organization might need.

"With today’s launch of the Google for Nonprofits program, which provides exclusive product offerings and enhanced online resources, we’ll be able to help U.S.-based nonprofits reach more donors, improve operations and raise awareness for their cause," Alfred Spector, VP of Research and Special Initiatives at Google, announced.

"If you work for a nonprofit, this program provides you with several new benefits. Instead of applying to each Google product individually, you can sign up through a one-stop shop application process," he added.

The new Google for Nonprofits website provides a hub for all the info an organization might need as well as and access to the new program. Nonprofits can apply for the program and have access to a variety of tools and resources.

They may get to use Google Apps for free or at a discounted rate, as well as Sites, Groups and many other Google tools for managing the organization.

Being accepted in the Google for Nonprofits can also mean access to premium YouTube features such as the ability to add a donate button to the YouTube player for any video uploaded by the group.

Organizations involved with environmentalism can also access the Google Maps APIs and more advanced mapping tools such as the Google Earth Outreach which enables them to create powerful data visualizations.

To help spread the word, nonprofits can also make use of AdSense for free, with up to $10,000 worth of ads each month. Finally, Google is also launching the Google for Nonprofits Marketplace to help these organizations reach companies that may be willing to offer their tools and services at a discounted rate or even for free.
