Google has quite a lot of apps listed on its application store and some of them are part of the Android core experience. Today, the search giant launched yet another Android application and made it available through Google Play Store.

In fact, the application is already available in some Android smartphones, but by releasing it in Google Play Store, developers can update it much faster so users won't have to wait another software update.

We're talking about a simple Clock application that feature Material Design visuals and the usual features offered by such a piece of software. But here is what Clock for Android can do for you, as confirmed by Google:

“Enjoy Google’s material design clock experience on your Android device. - Set alarms, add timers, and run a stopwatch; - Add your favorite cities to the World Clock pane; - Connect with Android Wear to snooze or dismiss alarms from your watch.”

Same functionalities, different look

The Clock application won't bring too many changes to those who already have Android stock or close to a pure Android experience.

This application is part of Android stock so Nexus and Motorola smartphone owners won't find too many differences in comparison with the slightly older version of Clock. For the rest, Clock brings the same functionalities, but a different look and feel.

Google is not the first and won't be the last to launch its apps on Play store in order to make it easier to update them. HTC and Motorola did the same with some of the apps included in their phones, but others may follow as well.

If you don't have the application yet, you can now download Clock for Android for free via Google Play Store. The application should be fully compatible with devices powered by Android 4.4 and up.
