Google has just released a new Android application in Play Store that allows users to find their lost or misplaces devices. Android Device Manager is available for free, but requires users to associate it with their Google account.

Aside from the fact that Android users will be able to locate their lost smartphones and tablets, the application also protects the data inside the device.

Basically, users will be able to reset their devices’ screen lock PIN or even erase all the data stored on the phone’s memory. This is the initial release of the application, so updates are likely to come very soon in case bugs are present.

You can now download Android Device Manager for free via Google Play Store. Keep in mind that the application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.3 and up.
