After rumors came out of Google wanting to create its own TV show, it would seem that the tech company is trying to make its way into another important domain, that of medical sciences.

The Business Insider reported that Google has teamed up with Ethicon, a division of Johnson & Johnson and also one of the most important medical equipment suppliers in the united States.

The deal between the two giant companies was released on Friday, but no details regarding the financial terms of the agreement have been revealed to the public. Either way, it is a big step for the medical world.

Mashable reported that they have managed to get in contact with a Google representative who had confirmed that Ethicon could make use of Google’s machine vision and image analysis software, specifically in robot-assisted surgeries.

What to expect from the partnership

Although they have just begun the collaboration, people are expecting great results to come from this merge, hoping that Google’s advanced technological equipment will be of great use during surgical procedures, helping not only human surgeons, but also robots to get a clearer vision in the operating room.

Many people have praised Google’s initiative to become more involved in this area, as it is well-known that this is not a premiere for Google.

The company has a Life Sciences division made up of a team of qualified researchers who are looking into developing the healthcare system as a part of the famous Google X project.

Therefore, this collaboration was considered a good decision for both sides, especially for Google in its attempt to change the face of medicine.

Also, this could mean that Google might reintroduce Glass as a way of improving medical procedure, an idea which had been voiced by many ever since the wearable device was released on the market. It might not have met its users’s expectations, but with some improvements, it could actually make a difference in the medical world.
