Google is known for its simple ads, in fact, that's a big part of what made it the biggest web company in the world. But it's moving into display ads as well, banner ads already make a big part of its ad revenue.

Still, some people may be more than surprised by a test Google is running which ads a huge banner ad after users log out of Gmail, as the Google Operating System blog reported.

Google has been working towards this for a while, but it seems that it's expanding cautiously. As well it should, Google in general has been known for its minimalistic look and emphasis on speed.

It's pretty clear that not a lot of people are going to like it if it turn into Yahoo all of a sudden and starts plastering ads where ever it can find some free pixels.
