Google has finally heard the pleas of surprisingly many teens and has opened up Google+ to everyone who can legally join such a site, meaning everyone over 13 years old in most places.
But Google is not just opening up the floodgates, it's taken several precautions to ensure that youngsters have a good experience in Google+. Specifically, it's making it even more obvious that sharing something publicly will make it visible to everyone online.
It's also adding a safety feature to Hangouts, whenever someone who isn't in a teenager's circle joins, the younger users will be removed from the chat and will have a chance to rejoin if they wish to.
Finally, Google is also making it impossible for people who are not in a teenager's circles to contact them, by default.
