Mountain View-based Internet giant Google is reportedly gearing up for the release of a “next generation personal communication device,” the latest reports out there suggest. The said
device was already spotted at the FCC and was confirmed to arrive on the market with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity capabilities.
No specific details on what the device might be all about have emerged so far but, given Google’s increased interest in the mobile space and its mobile operating system called Android, we would not be surprised if it had something to do with it.
In the said FCC filling, Google said it planned for the testing of such devices in 102 locations in the US, and that it would trial it both in its labs as well as in employees’ homes.
The device is said to connect to home WiFi networks, and
SlashGear suggests that it could very well be a Google Voice gadget of some sorts. Stay tuned for more info on it.
