In updating its Gmail application for iPhone and iPad on September 28, Google included screenshots that contain references to the late Apple co-founder, Steve Jobs.

Three screenshots were submitted by Google on the iTunes App Store to showcase the app’s capabilities. The third picture shows an email titled “Your favorite Steve Jobs quotes.”

“That’s been one of my mantras — focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains,” reads the quote in question.

Whether Google is trying to get on Apple’s good side or the customers’, the move is perceived well by the tech blogosphere.

As for the application itself, it now supports the new iPhone 5’s longer screen, which means you’ll be seeing more of each email now. As usual, we’ve included a handy download link below.
