Following the recent improvements made for Google's advertising platforms, the search giant debuted three new formats for the adverts distributed through its products. Until now, the registered members were able to implement four types of adverts: the 300x250 Medium Rectangle, the 336x280 Large Rectangle, the 200x200 Small Square, and the 250x250 Square. The parent company Google now debuted three more formats that will allow users to work with video adverts: the 728x90 Leaderboard, the 120x600 Skyscraper, and the 160x600 Wide Skyscraper.

"Users will first see a static opening image along with a play button. Once a user clicks the play button, the click-to-play video ad will begin to play within the ad unit. The actual size of the video will be smaller than it appears in the original four formats, but the video will play with the same crystal clear quality," the AdWords team said today.

In the recent period, the fight for the best advertising platform on the Internet is getting more important as a lot of companies are getting involved in the battle. Recently, Microsoft announced its plans to challenge Google after the Redmond Company acquired a special online advertising firm. However, the three Internet giants, Google, Yahoo and Microsoft are now challenging one another with new acquisitions and special flavors of its products.

Recently, Google acquired DoubleClick, an online advertising company that is able to expand the search giant's solutions and make them more powerful. Yahoo replied with a similar move and bought Right Media that is also a famous advertising company meant to bring the Sunnyvale firm closer to the Mountain View rival. However, Google is still the leader in its category, aiming to take the products into the offline media with several partnerships and agreements.
