Google has announced several brand new enhancements for its Photos feature in Google+. In an effort to make the Google data centers your new darkroom, the Internet giant tries to help you save some time by doing some of the editing job in your place.

Nowadays, pictures need to be uploaded, enhanced and shared. By loading images to Google+ in various albums, you can completely skip the editing step.

First, the Photos service can now select a few images to highlight out of hundreds of pictures you uploaded by simply applying several algorithms.

For instance, it leaves aside images that are blurry, duplicates or have bad exposure.

It also recognizes landmarks, as well as smiling faces that indicate people who are having fun, which is something you want to remember about your vacation, for example.

Furthermore, this feature also learns which people are important to you, such as your family members, and boosts those pictures to your Highlight area.

Seeing all the images is still possible and it only takes the click of a button to view them.

Google is also launching an auto-enhancement option. The tool can take care of your image so you don’t have to, by adjusting the tonal distribution, softening the skin, reducing the noise, setting the white balance, sharpening the image and removing the red eye effect.

Another feature Google is launching is “Auto awesome.” Basically, the service goes through the images in your albums and analyzes them. If there are multiple images taken at the same time or with the same people, Google will create a GIF so you can view them in motion.

Actually, Google says that it has already gone through all albums on Google+ and has gifted everyone with such GIF, which will be available for everyone in their accounts starting later today.
