Executive Chairman of Google Eric Schmidt has confirmed to the media that Apple is not stocking any Maps binaries from the Mountain View search giant. There’s no app waiting for review, and Apple is currently focused on improving its own Maps app.

During a visit in Tokio, Japan, Schmidt told reporters that Google has not submitted a new Google Maps application to the Apple App Store, after the two technology giants broke off ties for a dedicated mapping service in iOS 6.

“We have not done anything yet,” Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt said. “We’ve been talking with (Apple) for a long time. We talk to them every day,” he added, according to Reuters, but he declined to say what the next course of action is.

Apple, for its part, has said that Maps on iOS 6 (the brainchild of its C3 acquisition last year) would improve over time.
